Protein targets that stick in real life

Set a protein goal you can hit on busy days — without turning every meal into a spreadsheet.

Start with a range, not a slogan

Most active adults do well aiming for a steady daily protein range rather than a dramatic spike. Enough protein supports fullness and recovery; extremes rarely last.

If you are new to tracking, pick a target that fits two solid meals and one smaller one. You can raise it later.

Build plates, not guilt

Eggs, yogurt, fish, chicken, tofu, lentils and cottage cheese cover most days without specialty products. Pair them with vegetables and a carb you enjoy.

When a day runs short, add a simple protein-forward snack instead of rewriting the whole plan.

Let the log show the pattern

Photo logging makes protein visible. After a few days you will see which meals quietly fall short — breakfast is often the gap.

Fix one meal at a time. A higher-protein breakfast usually steadies the rest of the day.
